The Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) is hands down the most scenic and epic multi-day hike. It leads you through beautiful mountain passes, valleys, forests, glaciers, wildflower fields, rivers, and azure lakes around the Mont Blanc massif, the highest peak in Western Europe.

For the best start to your adventure, we highly recommend arriving the night before the trek officially begins. The nearest airport to Chamonix is Geneva, and if you need assistance in finding the best flight option, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help you every step of the way!
Chamonix is an absolute paradise for outdoor enthusiasts – if you still need to pick up those last-minute gear essentials, this is the place to do it.
So, spend a relaxing night in Chamonix, get ready for an incredible journey, and we can’t wait to go on this life-changing adventure with you!



We’ll start bright and early, heading to Les Houches, the official starting point of the TMB. After capturing some photos at the trailhead, we’ll begin our trek through one of the most stunning sections of the route. Highlights include crossing a Himalayan-style suspension bridge over the Bionnassay glacial river and enjoying breathtaking views from Col de Tricot. Passing through the charming village of Les Contamines, we’ll visit the beautiful Chapel of Notre Dame de la Gorge before a final gentle climb to the Nant Borrant refuge.

After breakfast at our cosy refuge, we’ll ascend toward Refuge de la Balme, entering the untamed wilderness of the TMB. Today’s highlights include the high-altitude alpine cols: Col du Bonhomme and Col de la Croix du Bonhomme, offering incredible views. As we descend, we’ll catch a glimpse of the striking Aiguille des Glaciers before reaching des Mottets.

Distance: 17 km | Elevation gain: 1355 m | Descent: 977 m



Today marks our first border crossing as we leave France and enter Italy, trading 'bonjour' for 'ciao!' This stage offers some of the most stunning views of Mont Blanc and is physically less challenging than the first two days. After crossing into Italy, we’ll descend into the breathtaking Val Veny, with its dramatic glacial scenery and lush meadows. Our day ends at Cabane de Combal, our favourite mountain hut, known for its unrivalled views, glacial lake and comfort —a perfect place to relax and reflect on the day’s journey.

Distance: 18.9 km | Elevation gain: 1161 m | Descent: 1075 m



We’ll begin our day in the stunning Val Veny, surrounded by dramatic peaks and glaciers. The route offers spectacular views as we continue our journey through this picturesque valley. A steady descent brings us to Courmayeur, often called the Italian counterpart to Chamonix, where we’ll enjoy its unique charm and perhaps indulge in some renowned Italian hospitality.

Distance: 15 km | Elevation gain: 570 m | Descent: 1315 m



Optional rest day.
Today offers flexibility to either rest or continue hiking. For those taking a break, options include riding the Skyway Monte Bianco to Punta Helbronner for unparalleled views of Mont Blanc, unwinding at the luxurious QC Terme Spa, or exploring the charming streets of Courmayeur.
For those continuing the trek, we’ll hike through Refugio Bertone and Refugio Bonatti, enjoying stunning vistas along the way, before descending into Val Ferret. In the evening, we’ll catch a bus back to Courmayeur to regroup and relax.

Distance: 21 km | Elevation gain: 1763 m | Descent: 589 m



We start the day with a climb to Grand Col Ferret, the highest point of the TMB, where we’re rewarded with breathtaking 360° views. From there, we descend into Switzerland, passing through the village of La Fouly and heading toward the pristine Champex Lac. Surrounded by stunning alpine scenery and idyllic Swiss landscapes, we’ll spend the night by the serene lake.

Distance: 16 km | Elevation gain: 832 m | Descent: 1599 m



Today offers a gentle, relaxing day as we skip the high mountain passes and instead enjoy a delightful stroll through enchanting forests of larch and pine. Along the way, we’ll be surrounded by idyllic, flower-filled fields—an experience that perfectly captures the essence of Switzerland.

Distance: 18 km | Elevation gain: 898m | Descent: 903m



From Le Peuty, we’ll climb to Col de Balme, our last border crossing of the trip, as we return to France and the stunning Chamonix Valley. After reaching the summit, we’ll enjoy a warm, comforting hot chocolate at Refuge Col de Balme before descending toward Argentière. The day also includes summiting l’Aiguillette des Posettes, where the slopes are adorned with Myrtille bushes and Alpenrose, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Distance: 13 km | Elevation gain: 1040m | Descent: 950m



This day is not for the faint-hearted as we cross the famous ladder section to reach the highest mountain hut of the Tour du Mont Blanc, located by the stunning Lac Blanc. We’ll be staying by the lake, soaking in some of the most incredible views of the entire trip. As we approach our final night, we’ll come together for a heartfelt closing circle—a time to reflect on our journey and what we’ve learned about ourselves and each other. For us, there’s no better way to end the TMB, surrounded by the beauty of nature and filled with gratitude for this incredible adventure.

The final day of the TMB offers some of the finest views of Mont Blanc. As we walk along enchanting balcony paths high above the Chamonix Valley, with Mont Blanc ahead, we’ll gradually make our way down to Chamonix via Plan Praz by cable car. The journey down offers incredible views, making it a fitting grand finale.
As we return to Chamonix, we’ll share a beautiful last dinner together, saying our goodbyes with loads of hugs, smiles, and last-minute photos to cherish the memories of the incredible people who walked this path by our side on this unforgettable adventure.
